Cookware & Kitchen Electrics Chemicals Disclosure

California Assembly Bill 1200 (“A.B. 1200”), Colorado House Bill 22-1345 (“H.B. 22-1345”) and Connecticut Senate Bill 292 ("S.B. 292) require manufacturers of cookware and/or kitchen electrics to disclose the presence of certain chemicals that are intentionally added to the handle of the product or in any product surface that comes into contact with food or beverages. California’s A.B. 1200 applies to chemicals identified on California’s Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) Candidate Chemicals List, while Colorado H.B. 22-1345 and Connecticut S.B. 292 apply to PFAS chemicals.

  • “Kitchen Electrics" encompass a variety of small, electric-powered appliances designed for kitchen use, including blenders, food processors, coffee makers, toasters, electric kettles, electric grills, waffle makers, electric skillets, mixers, hand blenders, food choppers, electric can openers, electric knives, rice cookers, juicers, and electric citrus presses. These appliances are tailored to streamline and enhance various aspects of food preparation and cooking.

Colorado H.B. 22-1345 and Connecticut S. B.292 Disclosure Details:

PTFE coated products contain PFAS chemicals (polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), perfluoroalkoxy alkane (PFA), fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP)), which are used for their non-stick properties.
