Independence Day Sweet Treats

The Fourth of July is a great holiday to spend with family and friends! If the weather continues to be this wonderful, you all can celebrate outdoors, play some lawn games, and grill up a storm!

At your holiday BBQ, picnic, or get together, why not wow everyone with some sweet summer treats! Please try out one, or all, of these fun summer dessert recipes!

American Pie

Ingredients:
1 (9”) organic pie crust
2 cups Greek Yogurt
2 eggs
½ cup coconut sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon cornstarch
A pinch of salt

Garnish:
12 strawberries, halved
2 bananas
½ pint blueberries

Directions:
Whisk together the yogurt, eggs, coconut sugar, and vanilla. Add the cornstarch and salt and mix again. Pour mixture into the pie crust.

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Allow pie to cool and then decorate with strawberries, bananas, and blueberries.

 

Watermelon Cake

Ingredients:
1 seedless watermelon sliced into a cylinder
2 cups Greek yogurt
fruit for decoration

Directions:
Slice watermelon into the desired shape and frost with yogurt. Add fruit, refrigerate and serve!

 

Summer Cheesecake

Ingredients:
1 organic graham cracker crust
2 cups unsweetened Greek Yogurt
½ cup coconut sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
summer fruits

Directions:
Mix Greek yogurt, coconut sugar, vanilla, cornstarch, salt, and eggs together with the Dash Hand Mixer.

Pour into the graham cracker crust and bake for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees or until the center jiggles slightly when the pan is gently shaken, but edges are set. Allow to cool and cover with your favorite fruits!
